The Royal Victoria infirmary lighting scheme project by Anshen and Allen
Sponsored LinksLighting and colour are particularly important in the build environment. When taking about the hospital environment, how much more important lighting and colour becomes. KSLD were introduced to the Royal Victoria Infirmary project by Anshen + Allen to develop the lighting scheme for the main entrance and atrium late in the design process, after the budget had been fixed. We responded to this challenge by developing a simple linear approach to the lighting, linking the corridor balconies and bridges. The first phase of the project is now open and has succeeded in articulating the inspiring volume that links key elements of the old and new hospital.
